The ongoing saga of the Game Development sector in crisis continues. The CEO of one of our largest and most successful studios, RocketWerkz, is considering setting up in Australia due to the incentives and staff available, and a lack of (or slow) response from our Government. 

It has been three weeks since the Digital Trust Hui Taumata at Te Papa Tongarewa and yet it still resonates with many delegates, judging by feedback I continue to receive. It’s a clear indicator of a great event that Digital Identity NZ and NZTech worked hard to bring to the community, overcoming the significant challenges of the time. 

Last week we celebrated another NZTech Group Annual General Meeting (AGM). It’s when we pause and take stock of the progress we’ve made.

This week I’m looking forward to attending the 2022 Hi-Tech Awards in Wellington on Friday night.  At last year’s awards, it was a special time for NZTech, being awarded for the best contribution to the New Zealand tech sector. The black-tie gala dinner is always a highlight of the year, celebrating the amazing people and companies of the tech sector.  A special call-out to many of our members who are Hi-Tech Award finalists.

Every month in FinTech land is busy, exciting, and dynamic with this month being no exception. As you will read further below there have been great examples of FinTech innovation reflecting the broad-church, FinTech community hard at work.
