Visit Tech Alliance
This week I am in Auckland all week and my schedule is a mix of at home zoom meetings and coffee catch ups in person!
Tomorrow, I’m joining the regular tech sector leaders meeting with the Government Chief Digital Officer (GCDO) and team. We will be receiving updates and providing feedback on a range of issues including procurement, digital identity and digital equity initiatives.
On Tuesday, I will also attend a debrief meeting following last week’s Digital Tech Industry Transformation Plan (ITP) skills alignment session. The session included all the Government agencies responsible for education including, the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC), Ministry of Education, Te Pukenga and others. It was an opportunity to align various tech skills related activities with each other and the Digital Tech ITP. I look forward to the increased momentum in this critical area.
Another interesting meeting this week is with Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand for an update on their data operation model and further discussion regarding the importance of digital in the new organisation. During the week I will also be catching up with some of the country’s larger organisations including Spark, ANZ Bank and KiwiRail.
Next week, I return to Wellington for our hugely successful 7th annual Cyber Security Summit, followed by the Digital Trust Hui Taumata. Security, privacy and digital identity are all critical for any business in this increasing digital world. Local and international speakers at these conferences will share the latest trends in cyber and digital trust, and interactive sessions will allow business leaders to really unpack these important issues for their organisations.
PS: Voting for NZTech’s Board is currently underway and closes next week. Learn more about this year’s nominees.
