NZTech Inform – Celebrating our Ecosystem
This week I’m looking forward to attending the 2022 Hi-Tech Awards in Wellington on Friday night. At last year’s awards, it was a special time for NZTech, being awarded for the best contribution to the New Zealand tech sector. The black-tie gala dinner is always a highlight of the year, celebrating the amazing people and companies of the tech sector. A special call-out to many of our members who are Hi-Tech Award finalists. Good luck!
But first, we have a full week ahead of us. This afternoon, I am spending time with Hon Judith Collins, along with the executive directors of FinTechNZ, AI Forum, BlockchainNZ and BioTechNZ to provide input into National’s technology policies.
Tomorrow, I am attending the AgriTechNZ executive council and the Tech Users Association’s (TUANZ) board meetings. Later in the week, I will be attending executive council meetings for FinTechNZ, Digital Identity NZ and LocationTechNZ. The New Zealand tech ecosystem is incredibly broad and deep, and it is great to see so many volunteers committed to its constant growth.
In other news, recently we partnered with Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, the Ministry of Education, Media Design School and the Wynyard Innovation Neighbourhood to host Tech22. The aim was simple – to inspire learners to consider technology careers. Over two days, schools were able to visit local tech firms and see first hand what a career in tech could be like. It was an awesome experience and definitely sparked inspiration for many. View the video highlights here and check out the photo gallery.
