Visit Tech Alliance
At this Wednesday’s Aotearoa AI Summit, several hundred people will gather, connect and collaborate. Their goal is not only developing improved awareness of AI in New Zealand, but also delving deeper to discuss how AI can support the growth of our economy, tackle environmental and social challenges and what needs to happen to make this a reality. As well as an amazing speaker line-up the summit is hosting industry engagement roundtables for the Government’s national AI strategy. This is the first opportunity for industry to engage and help steer our national strategy, so I encourage you to be actively involved. Last minute tickets to the Aotearoa AI Summit are still available.
In two weeks, Techweek2021 will be well underway and with close to 300 events now published, it’s time to start planning your week. Remember to save the events that interest you and create your own Techweek2021 playlist.
This year, we are very pleased by the number of community events that have come through – helping to encourage all New Zealanders to be inspired by and get involved with tech. For example, Scratch Coding and 3D Printing, SeniorTech: Open Day, Teachers Tech Tour, Fashion Innovation Expo and LEGO Technologies: WeDo2.0 for kids. There is literally something for everyone, so please check out all community events here.
Last week’s social media surrounding the Tech21 Summit highlighted to me, the importance of our work to understand and adopt Te Tiriti, to ensure our rapidly growing tech ecosystem evolves in a way that benefits all New Zealanders. I am happy to say that we are now engaged with Lee Timutimu and have a kanohi ki te kanohi (face to face) hui this week in Tauranga. This will provide an opportunity to understand each other’s perspectives and resolve any outstanding concerns. We are looking forward to meeting in person for a korero.
