Webinar: Finding the Future First – Bold innovation in times of great change with Larry Keeley

This event is not run by an association in the Tech Alliance, but may be of interest to some members.

Join Larry Keeley, Doblin co-founder and one of the most influential business thought leaders in the past decade, for an exclusive 90-minute interactive digital workshop to explore why innovation is so crucial for NZ right now, and how his Ten Types of Innovation framework can help businesses take advantage of innovation opportunities.

With the current uncertainty caused by COVID-19, and the subsequent global economic downturn, launching new innovations might seem like risky business right now. But according to Larry Keeley, Doblin co-founder, co-author of Ten Types of Innovation: The Discipline of Building Breakthroughs and innovation guru, it’s a crucial time for NZ businesses to keep innovating – and he wants to support them to do just that.

On 26 August at 9.30am, Keeley will host an exclusive 90-minute interactive digital workshop via Zoom, starting with a 50-minute presentation and followed by a 40-minute Q&A session, where businesses will have the opportunity to get specific advice on their own innovations. Drawing on his influential Ten Types of Innovation framework, Keeley will share expert business insights, along with practical tips and advice. Callaghan Innovation is upskilling all customer managers on the Ten Types of Innovation framework, and following this session will be able to offer customised workshops for Callaghan Innovation customers.

Keeley has been an innovation scientist for more than 40 years, uncovering and sharing strategies for effective innovation. As president and co-founder of Doblin, he pioneered many comprehensive innovation models and has worked with major global businesses, including Aetna, American Express, Apple, Boeing, Coca-Cola, Ford, GE, HSBC, McDonald’s, Shell, Sony and Target. He’s also a TEDx speaker, university lecturer, and former long-time board member at Chicago Public Radio, helping develop iconic radio programmes such as, ‘This American Life’.

In addition, he’s helped shaped innovation strategies in the philanthropic sector, working with organisations such as Gates Foundation and MacArthur Foundation, as well as governments and religious organisations globally.

Ten Types of Innovation: The Discipline of Building Breakthroughs has been translated into 14 languages, and is one of the best-selling innovation books of all time. Bloomberg Businessweek named Keeley one of seven ‘Innovation Gurus’ influencing the field, and cited Doblin as having one of the most sophisticated tools created to deliver effective innovation.

The business publication also previously labeled Keeley one of the 27 most influential designers in the world.
