Agritech News: Shared opportunities

I’m writing this from my ancestral lands of Ireland where I’m visiting family and working remotely for a few weeks. Looking at New Zealand from afar always provides a fresh perspective.

I have been visiting with research and investment partners here in Ireland who share many of the ambitions we progress at home. It is salient to see Irish innovators addressing not just domestic challenges, but also global food challenges and food systems more common outside of Ireland. This is the same dynamic and growth path New Zealand agritech pursues so well and there is abundant opportunity to collaborate. For example, check out CropBiome and CropSafe. Connecting with key partners and the agritech ecosystems here is integral to advancing agritech in and from Aotearoa New Zealand. We believe there is significant potential to gain visibility of problems worth solving and resources to help solve them through these valuable networks.

I’d like to thank everyone who attended and participated in our Agritech Industry Transformation Plan ( ITP) Connect events over the past month. Growing the sector fourfold over the next eight years is a real challenge and we appreciate the input of those ready to face the challenge as an opportunity. Engaging in debate over the conditions to enable such growth and impact is a vital step in ensuring our ecosystem moves forward at pace.
